Brief: To encode and stream the Showcase 2 TV channel over the internet
BigStream simulcasts the Showcase 2 satellite television channel 24/7/365 over the internet. The channel is captured off air at our downlink centre in Kent and delivered via dedicated data circuits to BigStream’s streaming platform in Canary Wharf.
Showcase 2 wanted to ensure the stream was as widely and easily accessible as possible so BigStream encodes the stream in three formats: Flash, Windows Media and Silverlight. BigStream worked closely with the client’s website team to integrate the media player into their website.
A special promotional pre-roll was added to the stream which plays every time a user access the stream. BigStream provides an online statistics tool providing the client with a comprehensive range of data.
